UTAH CHILD MURDER VICTIMS MEMORIAL

My Big Give, inspired by the good works of the Oprahs' Big Give Challenge:

http://www.oprah.com/

In Loving Memory of Hser Ner Moo Age 7.( WEBSITE LINK IS AT BOTTOM) A little angel who's death inspired a community to do good. I will be forever inspired by your innocence, and your familys ability to survive your loss.
May God Bless and watch over your family, friends, and all who knew and loved you.

Celebrities and athletes, politicians, and super rich that are always competing against one another please take your energy and turn it to good.
Where did you go to spend that $100,000 shopping spree on yourself?

Who is the top famous philanthropist donor this year?

Celebrities please use your influence to do good. Please find a struggling charity in your community and show up to raise attention and donations for it!
That’s right just show up and announce it to the major TV and radio stations before you do! The Utah Food Bank in Utah is always in desperate need of assistance, maybe a Utah Jazz Player or Real Soccer Player can promote the need to fill the pantry and keep hungry working class and poverty stricken families eating this summer.
When is enough, enough? So your rich by material standards, are you rich in your heart? What have you done to make this world a better place?
To those who work very hard to be very financially successful my hats off to you! To those who just bling bling all over the world and don't even tip appropriately, then ...
I want to see a high paid sports player do something to better his or her community. Improvements which are more than building a new mansion and buying more cars and jewelry. I want to see C.E.O.'s of big companies making golf bets and giving all of the winnings to charity. Yeah, that means all of you Fortune 500 guys.
Bill Gates, I exclude you for your previous huge donations to better the world and for your ongoing attempts to eradicate Malaria and AIDS worldwide. But the rest of you guys/ladies step up to the plate, I know what kind of money you can spend in five star hotels in a fling! Are you planning on spending a fortune flying into the Sundance Film Festival this coming February 2009?
Or will we continue with the Life Styles of the Rich and Famous continuing to be materialistic and egotistic, The Status Quo, Or will it be who bought the most expensive grill, jewelry, new luxury home or car. Who had the most expensive wedding, most expensive piece of jewelry or dress on at an event?
Celebrities and Sports Athletes looked up to by many please use your people motivational power to inspire good in communities all over. I have worked in luxury hotels; I have met both wonderful famous figures and those who are just materialistic.
I challenge you as a famous individual to do good instead of just existing in this world.
I was inspired many times by the stories of a man who anonymously left thousands of dollars to a waitress. Repeated stories of anonymous millionaires and billionaires who did tremendous good for others - Such as when they paid off family medical bills.
By Hurricane Katrina Volunteers, and by those who work for Habitat for Humanity. Then in the 1980’s, the group Band Aid and the many celebrity performers who generated millions of dollars for starving people in Africa.

A little angel was taken from our community.
This little innocent girl was murdered by someone she had met and trusted.
Please teach your children stranger danger, but we will not live in fear in our own community!
Please support the family! Make donations thru Zions National Bank of Utah. Cartoon Wah is her fathers’ name which the account is under for donations.
I am also recognizing the efforts of the extended Utah Public Safety Community and Federal Law Enforcement agencies.
The power of good versus evil when hundreds of volunteers worked scouring the community to bring this little angel back to her loved ones.
Please show to the victims family, that just because evil took away their only daughter who can never be replaced, that the joy and love of the good people in this world will prevail.
The healing has begun for the family, keep the light burning for this little angel.
“At one time Hser Ner Moo’s father had said nothing about his daughter’s killer. He walked around the apartment complex Wednesday and was choked up when he saw a huge memorial outside the complex dedicated to his only daughter.”
Hser Ner Moo, 7, was reported as missing on the evening of Mar. 31, 2008.
The next day, her body was found in the same apartment complex where she lived." kslnews.com

"South Salt Lake Police Chief Chris Snyder and Fire Chief Steve Foote stopped at the memorial to give Hser Ner Moo’s family their respects. Chief Snyder said there is still no clear answer why a young man would kill a 7-year-old girl. "That's the first question anybody asks; why? Why would this happen? All I can say is our priority is that he never sees the light of day again."
As a Justice Studies student, I hope that the family understands that the American justice system can be slow. I said pray for the family and pray for justice. On the radio station 97.1 ZHT website in Utah, I left the following email message:
Hi, I spent more than a few hours yesterday at the apartment complex in South Salt Lake setting up a memorial (a new nicer one to the south). I was helped by a girl from the apartment complex; she and her loved ones are in terrible pain still. She just a child herself living in an apartment community, a girl of approximately 13 years old cannot believe that such evil could occur in this world. She remembers the little angel and the beautiful innocent nice little girl who was murdered just feet away from her home. Murdered and sexually abused by someone she had trusted.
Together, the little girl and I filled candles to keep the light going, pink luminaries filled with sand from the apartment children’s playground sandbox. At night the glow of the memorial was awe inspiring.
Until I saw her listed as an Amber Alert in town and on the news - I never knew her, I was just touched by her family’s suffering and the resulting loss as the story played out on the local news. What would I do if this had been my one and only daughter?

The pain I felt was gut wrenching, I cannot fathom the loss of a child especially this kind of loss, and what if it had been my daughter Cassie? I was there working on making a beautiful memorial for this little angel so long that the news media approached and I was on Channel 2 at 10pm .

My family all the way across town was devastated by the bad news; we had prayed that she would be found happy and alive. My mom (not biological) disabled quadriplegic with Multiple Sclerosis and Diabetes, was also very emotional about the loss of the little girl across town.
The glimmer of hope was to be snuffed out by evil.
The candles and so many beautiful gifts left by so many loving members of the community are a tribute that good will overpower evil. Most importantly, that the family of the little girl is thought about and respected. I am happy that I left my good efforts there and my continuing hope for the care of the family. I hope many will continue to support the little refugee family. While we were making the new memorial needed due to the sheer number of gifts, A small girl about 7 was on the front sidewalk with a friend, she asked where the little girl was as if she couldn't obviously comprehend the horrible tragedy.
I said proudly she is with God now in a safe place, and this is all for her family. I cried and many adults felt the grief as well. I am proud to have graduated from the Westminster College Justice Studies program in 2007. I hope that my classmates, fellow Alumni Associates and the Community of Westminster College in Salt Lake City, rally to support the family for long term care.
I am thankful for the South Salt Lake City Police Department, and that they responded and dealt with this tragedy effectively.
In America, one of the biggest ignored truths is the lack of law enforcement funding which impacts staff and everything else in our communities.

My poster read “Pray for the Family, Pray for Justice” it is a long, slow process in America. My other poster said: IN THE NAME OF LOVE, They took your life they cannot take your PRIDE. The famous lyrics by U2 artist Bono.
Tiny pink teddy bears were placed everywhere in memory of this little angel. Thank you to the little girl who helped me fill the pink luminary candles.
May God Bless the family, and the neighbors, law enforcement, and the extended public safety community so impacted by this loss.
